Application of Color Coding in Tactical Display S-3A.

Abstract

The present effort was designed to examine the literature on color coding in terms of the incorporation of color in tactical displays aboard the S-3A. Available literature could be conveniently separated into work concentrating on visual functioning, display/environmental factors, task/performance variables. Overall the results do not strongly support the inclusion of color in S-3A tactical displays. In the event color is incorporated, its usage should be at the control of the operator. (Author)
