Design and Fabrication of an Aerosol Concentrator.

Abstract

An aerosol concentrator used in conjunction with a folded-path transmissometer, was designed and fabricated at NRL. The concentrator extends the effective length of a laser beam used in the transmissometer by more than one order of magnitude by concentrating the particles in the ambient aerosol by a like amount. This report reproduces engineering drawings and describes the fabrication of the concentrator. Problems encountered during the fabrication and testing procedures are also discussed. (Author)
