Magnetic Soliton Defects in Polyacetylene.

Abstract

Magnetic resonance studies of undoped polyacetylene indicate a mobile defect induced upon isomerization to the trans-isomer. The unpaired spin in the pi-system is spread over approximately fourteen carbon atoms. The results are in all respects consistent with the soliton model. (Author)
