Experimental Determination of Initial Vibrational and Rotational Energy Distributions from the Reaction D + F2.

Abstract

Preparatory experiments and construction of apparatus leading up to attempts to obtain the initial vibrational and rotational energy distribution of deuterium fluoride produced in the gas phase reaction D + F2 yields DF + F are described. Discrepancies between results obtained with the present apparatus and that of other workers are discussed and resolved. (Author)
