National Dam Safety Program. Foxs Lake Dam (NJ00342), Passaic River Basin, Foxs Brook, Morris County, New Jersey. Phase 1 Inspection Report.

Abstract

Based on visual inspection, available records, calculations and past operational performance, Foxs Lake Dam, initially listed as a high hazard potential structure, but reduced to a significant hazard potential structure as a result of this inspection, is judged to be in fair overall condition. The dam's spillway is considered inadequate because a flow equivalent to six percent of the Spillway Design Flood--SDF - would cause the dam to be overtopped. (The SDF, in this instance, is one half of the Probable Maximum Flood.)
