SSH Moisture Sounding.

Abstract

Analysis of variance in the 18-30 micrometers water vapor sensing channels of the DMSP SSH infrared sounder indicates the channels are too opaque in moist atmospheres. Their statistical influence must be carefully controlled in forming statistical inversion matrices for temperature profiles. (Author)
