Wessex Modernization: A Preliminary Simulation Study,

Abstract

A preliminary simulation study for a modernized Wessex helicopter, proposed for use by the RAN, is presented. The study uses mathematical models of the Wessex Mk31B aerodynamics/kinematics and modified Sea King Mk50 flight control system to simulate the flight dynamic behaviour of the modernized Wessex. Results indicate that good flight performance can be obtained provided system parameters are chosen correctly. (Author)
