Opto-Acoustic Studies of Methane Impurities in Argon.

Abstract

An opto-acoustic detection system has been constructed for detecting absorption of DF laser radiation. Absorption by methane in argon has been observed at 13 DF lines. The system was calibrated using independently measured absorption line parameters for CH4 broadened by argon at the DF line P sub 2(8).
