Oxy and Thio Phosphorus Acid Derivatives of Tin. 4. Diorganotin (IV) Bis(Dithiophosphate) Esters,
Abstract
Eleven dimethyl- and diphenyltin bis(dithiophosphate)esters, R2Sn(s2P(OR prime) 2)2, where R=CH3 and R prime = CH3, C2H5, n-C3H7, and i-C3H7, and C3H7 and where R = C6H5 and R prime = CH3, C2H4,n-C3H7, i-C3H7, n-C4H9, i-C4H9, and C6H5, are synthesized in high yield by the reaction of the diorganotin dichlorides with the ammonium, sodium, or potassium salts of the dithiophosphoric ester or by the condensation of the diorganotin (IV) oxide with the O,O prime-diorgano dithiophosphoric acid in benzene to release water which is distilled azeotropically to drive the reaction forward.
