Interaction of Electrons and Electromagnetic Waves in Periodic Structures.

Abstract

We have further developed theoretical work on free electron lasers (FEL), proposed new mechanisms for FELs, developed numerical computational tools for electron gun design, continued optical experiments, completed the design and initial fabrication of two versions of electron guns, and made appreciable progress in the construction of an experimental set-up for spontaneous and stimulated Cerenkov-Smith-Purcell experiments.
