Mobility Measurements on a Beam and Dynamic Absorber.

Abstract

This Memorandum describes the measurement of the responses of two structures to certain input forces. The main object of the experiment was to use the measurements performed on the two separate structures to predict the results for a structure formed by connecting them together. One of the structures chosen was a beam and the other was designed to behave as a dynamic absorber when attached to the beam. Confidence was given to the measurements by comparing the results with theory as far as possible. (Author)
