The Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Oxidation of Hydrocarbons on Platinized TiO2 Powders.

Abstract

The photodecomposition in oxygen-containing solutions at platinized TiO2 yields predominantly CO2 as the reaction product, with intermediate production of hydroxylated compounds. A mechanism for the reaction based on photogeneration of hydroxyl radicals at the TiO2 surface is proposed. (Author)
