Indian Ocean Geological, Geophysical and Oceanographic Data Catalog, USNS WILKES, 1977-1979.

Abstract

During the period of May 1977 to December 1979, the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office conducted geological, geophysical, and oceanographic surveys in the Indian Ocean from the USNS WILKES. The report summarizes the type, amount, and location of underway and on-station data. Underway data consists of seismic profiles, narrow beam bathymetry, 3.5 kHz subbottom profiles, total magnetic intensity, and sea surface temperature measurements. On-station data includes sediment interval velocity measurements made by using wide angle bottom reflectivity techniques, bottom sediment cores and oceanographic stations. (Author)
