Electrolytes for Hydrocarbon Air Fuel Cells.

Abstract

The present research is directed towards obtaining an improved electrolyte for hydrocarbon-air fuel cells. No commercially available electrolyte appears to demonstrate promise. Two new electrolytes, difluoromethanediphosphonic acid and difluoromethanedisulfonic acid, have been synthesized and are being tested. The present status of the project and the outstanding problems are reviewed. (Author)
