A One-Dimensional Numerical Model of Laser Heating of Target Slabs (Un Modele Numerique Unidimensionnel du Chauffage d'une Plaque Metallique par Laser),

Abstract

This report establishes a numerical scheme to solve the nonlinear one-dimensional heat transfer equation. The scheme is then applied to the case of laser-metals interaction and used to show the importance of thermophysical properties variation on the temperature distribution within a slab.
