Spin Jet Damping of Rocket-Assisted Projectiles

Abstract

A theory is developed to predict the spin-up of a rocket-assisted projectile during burning. The percentage change in spin is show to be proportional to the percentage change in the spin moment of inertia. Observed 2% increments in spin are about half the predicted maximum increment.
