Angular Dependence of Liquid Crystal Based Nematic Acoustic Field Imaging Devices

Abstract

The program of this contract has been to study the acoustic-optic effect which occurs in pneumatic liquid crystals when excited by acoustic waves, including extension and testing of the streaming model developed by C.F. Hayes. We have now for the first time developed and tested a mathematical model for proper cell design for this effect.
