Occupational Survey Report. Volume I. Computer Operations and Programming Specialties, AFS 511X0 and 511X1.

Abstract

This is a report of an occupational survey of the Computer Operations (AFS 511X0) and Programming (AFS 511X1) specialties, completed by the Occupational Survey Branch, USAF Occupational Measurement Center, in May 1980. The survey was initiated at the request of the Interservice Training Review Organization (ITRO) to review Computer Systems training provided by the four services (U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corp, and U.S. Air Force). The results of the U.S. Air Force portion of this interservice survey are presented specifically in this report. A more detailed report covering all services combined will be published separately. Individual reports for the 511X0 (Computer Operations) and 511X1 (Computer Programming) ladders are also available (AFPT 90-511-413 Vols. II and III) which present more detailed analyses for each respective specialty. Previous occupational surveys of the 511XX career field were published in March 1973 and March 1977. (Author)
