An Analysis of the Lead-In Fighter Training Program.

Abstract

Lead-In Fighter Training is the vital link for fighter pilots between basic flight school and primary weapon system training. This paper traces the recent expansion of Lead-In Flight Training from a squadron to a wing, discusses the objectives and dilemmas in the program, and lists a series of proposals to rectify the problems. The material is based on the writer's personal experience as an instructor in the Lead-In Fighter Training program. (Author)
