Life Cycle Cost Verification Test for USAF UHF AM Radio AN/ARC-164 (V).

Abstract

The main objective of life cycle cost acquisitions is to consider ownership costs as well as development and initial system costs. The AN/ARC-164 PAVE RADIO program objective was to minimize life cycle cost by acquiring a highly reliable and easily maintainable radio. The Life Cycle Cost Verification Test (LCCVT) was used to compare logistics parameters proposed prior to contract award with parameters demonstrated in later operational use. The LCCVT methodology required numerous trade-offs to maintain an objective test environment at operational sites. (Author)
