A Special-Purpose Processor for an Automatic Feature Extraction System.

Abstract

The design of a special-purpose vector-type processor particularly applicable to image-processing tasks is discussed. The advantages of parallel processing are described. Particular attention is paid to the register structure of the proposed processor and to the design of a suitable crossbar switch. (Author)
