A Method for Evaluation of Microcomputers for Tactical Applications.

Abstract

A method is proposed to evaluate the performance of microcomputer systems in a specified tactical application. The computational requirements of a tactical application are specified in terms of performance parameters. The presently marketed microcomputer and multi-microcomputer systems computational performance capacities are also specified in terms of performance parameters. If the performance capacity is not less than the performance requirement, then the microcomputer system is evaluated as a feasible system suitable for implementing the tactical application. A case study using the attack aircraft A6-E tactical system illustrates the evaluation method. (Author)
