Survey of CIG Data Base Generation from Imagery.

Abstract

The generation of an environment model for a Computer Image Generation (CIG) system is currently a labor intensive, expansive effort. This report reviews an extensive amount of literature covering the topics of scene complexity requirements in a visual simulation system, the structure of the data required by existing three-dimensional graphic algorithms, the application of photogrammetric and digital image processing techniques to assist the modeler, and recommendations for a modeling facility.
