The Weathering of Plastics Materials in the Tropics. 5. Polyphenylene Oxide and Noryl.

Abstract

The report describes the effect of long term weathering on polyphenylene oxide (PPO) and Noryl (a polystyrene modified PPO). Both natural and carbon black containing samples of each were exposed for up to 4 years at two tropical and one temperate site. Visual appearance, weight, tensile and flexural strength and electrical properties were recorded and used to monitor the effects of weathering. (Author)
