Aperture Analysis of Laser Speckle Interferograms

Abstract

This report documents a new simple system for analyzing laser speckle interferograms for deformation data. In the process the diffracted light from a laser speckle interferogram placed in a collimated light field is selectively mapped into a viewing plane using an aperture. The result is a fringe pattern in the viewing plane which can be easily interpreted for displacement data. The system gives very accurate results.
