Fiber Optic Transmitter and Receiver Radiation Evaluation.
Abstract
The report describes the radiation characterization of fiber optic transmitter and receiver integrated circuits developed by the Air Force Avionics Laboratory. These devices were manufactured by Spectronics of Honeywell and the model numbers are SPX 3619, SPX 3620, SPX 4125 and SPX 4126. Nuclear radiation hardness was not a specific goal in the development of these integrated circuits. The devices were evaluated for catastrophic failure and performance degradation in a neutron and total gamma dose environments. Possible latch-up and transient upset were evaluated in an ionizing dose rate environment. (Author)
