Stock Funding of Depot Level Reparable Components.

Abstract

The study attempts to determine the feasibility of stock funding all depot level reparable (DLR) components as a means of materially improving the return rate of unserviceable items. The study concludes that there is no strong evidence that stock funding of depot level reparable components would have any significant effect on the rate of return. More intensive management of all reparable items, rather than a change in the method of funding is needed. The study also notes that 60% of all depot level reparables are not stock funded.
