Does CGSC Prepare the Air Force Officer for His Follow on Assignment?

Abstract

This study attempts to determine if CGSC prepares the Air Force officer for the responsibilities and tasks he will encounter in his next assignment. The investigation focuses on an analysis of the curriculums of CGSC and ACSC; impressions of the 1979-80 Air Force students; and a survey of the experiences of the two previous classes of the Air Force students. The investigation revealed that the answer is not a clear cut yes or no. But instead one that is dependent upon a variety of factors. The officers surveyed offered numerous suggestions for curriculum changes to improve the Air Force officer's education at CGSC. These were consolidated and presented as recommendations. (Author)
