Broadband Linear Communications Amplifier.

Abstract

Under this program an X-band, 5-watt linear solid state amplifier was designed, fabricated, and tested. The amplifier delivers saturated output power of 10 watt with power gain of 32 dB at 8GHz. For linear amplification, the third order intermodulation distortion of the amplifier is - 32 dBc at 5 watt (two-tone) output power level. The overall DC to RF conversion efficiency is 11% at saturation with total power consumption of 92.5 watt. (Author)
