Airborne-Fiber Optics Manufacturing Technology, Aircraft Installation Processes.

Abstract

Manufacturing processes were developed for installation of optical fiber harnesses and 'stand alone' links on military aircraft. Fabrication and installation plans and procedures were developed and a routing analysis was performed to provide a basis for installation of fiber optics in military aircraft. A life cycle cost analysis of the optical fiber harness indicates economic advantages. (Author)
