Verification Tests of the US Electricar Corp. Lectric Leopard.

Abstract

The 'Lectric Leopard' is a Renault Le Car that has been converted to an electric vehicle. It was tested as part of a Department of Energy demonstration program. The performance test results are presented in this report. The vehicle is powered by 16 6-volt lead acid batteries through a contactor to the 48-volt 12-horsepower traction motor. It is equipped with front disc brakes, drum rear, and torsion bar suspension. It does not have regenerative braking.
