Missile X Protective Shelter C(3) Processor Study Report,

Abstract

This study will show that an 8-bit microprocessor such as the Z80 is ideal for HSS processing tasks. Furthermore, by comparing DMA and Program I/O execution times, it is shown that the use of DMA does not enhance the HSS processors's processing capability. The NSA suggested dual processor architecture is analyzed to show the impact on reliability, power and cost. (Author)
