Required In-House Capabilities for Department of Defense Research, Development, Test and Evaluation

Abstract

This report describes the required in-house RDT&E capabilities of the Department of Defense (DOD) RDT&E organizations. It discusses the role of Government R&D, the R&D process and environment, DOD responsibilities, and finally the required in-house capabilities. This document discusses the responsibilities of the DOD internal research, development, test and evaluation establishment, which comprises program management offices, laboratories, research and development centers, test and evaluation activities. and other technical organizations. Collectively, these internal RDT&E organizations represent a vital component of the Defense research, development, and acquisition program.
