Definition of the Problems Associated with Air Traffic Control of Closely Spaced Helicopter Traffic Performing Decelerated Instrument Approaches.

Abstract

This study reviews the requirements for a modern, high performance all weather Air Traffic Management and Control (ATM/C) System designed for U.S. Army airfields. A strawman ATM/C system is created to illustrate problems, and to identify research and development needs in surveillance, communications, and computer display and automation.
