Abstract

The course objectives are to provide the student with: (1) Information on basic types of building construction and their collapse characteristics by various causes. (2) Information on various types of methods and equipment used during heavy rescue operations. (3) Methods and procedures for utilizing heavy rescue equipment. (4) Methods of developing improvised rescue equipment utilizing available materials. (5) A simulated exercise utilizing various rescue operations and techniques. (6) Methods and procedures for the maintenance and storage of heavy rescue equipment.
