Field Testing of Solid-Sorbent Sampling--Colorimetric Analysis for Hydrazine in Air.

Abstract

A field sampling and analytical method for measuring hydrazine in air at and below the TLV concentration of 0.1 ppm was developed at USAFSAM. The method uses the Hach field water-analysis kit to analyze samples collected on acidified firebrick sorbent packed in a glass tube through which air is pulled by a miniature personal sampling pump. This report presents the results of a collaborative field study done by 13 participating organizations to validate this method for field use. The study showed that relatively inexperienced analysts had satisfactory results when using this method.
