An Empirical Model of the Vertical Structure of German Fogs.

Abstract

Data available from balloon-borne measurements of fog particle size distributions were analyzed to develop an empirical model of the vertical structure of german fogs. The data base consisted of approximately two dozen profiles collected Grafenwohr and Meppen, Germany. Curve fitting procedures were applied to the results of liquid water content calculations and extinction coefficients calculations to develop single algorithms. Tables are included to show comparisons of the model outputs with the original data. (Author)
