Precharge Enhanced SGEMP

Abstract

We present analytic and numerical results relevant to the SGEMP response under conditions of strong differential charging, and a theory for dielectric surface discharges. Scaling relations are presented for space charge limited currents near edges of charged dielectrics. A new hybrid electrostatic/ electromagnetic SGEMP computer code is presented. Comparisons with experiment are made for precharge-enhanced SGEMP and for surface discharges.
