M-X Environmental Technical Report. Environmental Characteristics of Alternative Designated Deployment Areas, Technical Report on Noise.

Abstract

The construction and operation of the M-X system will produce two potentially major sources of noise and consequent impact on the environment: Highway traffic near the bases and within the M-X system. Airfield operation associated with the bases. Secondary sources include: Construction activities. Railroad traffic transporting materials to the sites during construction. The purpose of this analysis is to establish on a general level the impacts associated with these noise sources, and to suggest mitigation methods where applicable. (Author)
