Traveling Wave Tube Failure Rates.

Abstract

A traveling wave tube (TWT) failure rate model is derived. The model gives TWT failure rate as a function of power, frequency, and environment. The data base used to derive the model was obtained from military users of TWTs, TWT manufacturers, and manufacturers of systems containing TWTs. The model is applicable to pulsed and continuous wave TWTs, TWTs used in radar, electronic countermeasures, and communications applications, and all military environments. (Author)
