Understanding Understanding.

Abstract

The schema theoretic view of comprehension is reviewed. Several techniques for the study of on-line measures of comprehension are developed. The techniques include a question probe technique and a reading time technique. Data were collected using each of these techniques and the results are compared with each other. The results are then interpreted in terms of a schema theoretical view of comprehension. (Author)
