Verification Tests of the Jet Industries Electra Van 600.

Abstract

The Jet Industries Electra Van 600 is a Subaru Van which has been converted to an electric vehicle. It was tested by MERADCOM as part of a Department of Energy project to verify conformity to performance standards of electric vehicles. The Electra Van 600 test results are presented in this report. The 600 Van is powered by 17 6-volt lead-acid batteries through an SCR Controller to a series-wound 20-hp d.c. motor. It has torsion bar suspension with hydraulic shocks and is equipped with drum-type hydraulic brakes front and rear. It does not have regenerative braking. (Author)
