Report on the International Conference on Radio Spectrum Conservation Techniques, London, 7-9 July 1980.

Abstract

This is a review of the highlights of a conference reviewing the results of recent research in developing improved techniques for reducing the requirements for band width in communications. Bandwidth-efficient interference resistant modulation, frequency re-use, cellular organization of short range transmitters, and satellite systems are among the techniques discussed. Areas of interest include mobile radio, broadcasting telephone systems, satellite systems, and spectrum planning, assignment and measurement. (Author)
