Deformation of Amorphous Fe40Ni40P14B6 under Compression to 250 Kbar.

Abstract

Metallic glass was compressed in the diamond cell to 250 kbar and the pressure was measured as a function of position with the ruby method. Analysis of P(r) yields a flow stress of 17 kbar, and pressure dependence of 0.4% per kbar. The pressure dependence is similar to that of crystalline Fe. (Author)
