Simulating Radar Signals for Detection Performance Evaluation.

Abstract

A simulation procedure is developed for determining detection performance of a ground-based radar against airborne targets under a wide variety of environment and system conditions. Quadrative video signals are simulated as they are transmitted, reflected from the scattering environment, and processed in the radar receiver. Importance sampling techniques are used to simulate low false alarm rates. (Author)
