L-Band Front End SAW Filters.

Abstract

The theory and design of L-band SAW Filters for the Global-Positioning System (GPS) RF front end is described. Filters on lithium niobate with loss as low as 4.5 dB at 1233 MHz have been constructed and tested. Filters on ST-quartz have also been designed, fabricated and tested. These devices have insertion loss on the order of 14 to 16 dB and frequency sidelobes of -47 dB with only one weighted transducers. Withdrawal weighted group-type transducers were also designed.
