The Reflection Properties of Conducting Slabs,

Abstract

The exact monochromatic solution for the plane wave reflection by a flat homogeneous slab of arbitrary thickness and conductivity is written for both transverse magnetic (TM) and transverse electric (TE) polarizations. The reflected waveforms for an incident impulse and for a low frequency pulse are then written as fourier integrals and are numerically solved for a number of special cases of interest for application of studies of the reflection properties and nature of the lowest regions of the daytime ionosphere.
