Electrochemical Behavior of Sulfide at the Silver Rotating Disc Electrode. II. Mechanism of Silver Film Formation.
Abstract
Steady state anodic voltammograms were measured at a silver rotating disc electrode in a basic sulfide solution. Analysis of the voltammograms indicates that the rate determining steps in the dissolution of silver are due to a combination of surface chemical reaction, forming silver sulfide, and the charge transfer-reaction between silver and silver ion. Kinetic parameters of each step are evaluated and an I-E curve is reproduced from these parameters. The wave form is in good agreement with the voltammogram obtained experimentally. (Author)
