Bottom Loss Upgrade

Abstract

A geophysical bottom model for thick sediment bottom-loss is developed using NADC bottom loss data. In addition, NADC thin sediment bottom loss data is used to develop a model for use in ascertaining dominant loss mechanisms of thin sediments. Finally, an investigation to determine the feasibility of using existing random-media propagation models to relate coherence of the acoustic field to spatial variability.
