A Summary of Recent Results in Acoustic Bottom Interaction Research.

Abstract

This report summarizes research on acoustic interaction with the sea floor carried out during 1980 at Applied Research Laboratories, The University of Texas at Austin. Major topics considered are generic geoacoustic profiles for single layer sediment structures and propagation in a range variable environment. Other topics include the effects of bottom roughness (scattering) and the bottom interaction phase shift. (Author)
